Service Description

Little Blank Canvas & Mindful Art Practices are fusing the benefits of Creative Expression and Mental Health to bring an artsy Workshop for Teens. The Artful Minds Workshop emphasizes the therapeutic aspect of the art-making and creative expression in a group setting, "making mistakes", fostering a connection with our innate creativity and promoting relaxation, nervous system regulation and acceptance. In this 5-week Workshop, we will explore body awareness, mindfulness, working with our mental playlists, mapping our beliefs about ourselves, connecting with our strengths and inner authenticity. Each session will provide a mix of hands-on activities, meditative techniques in art making for regulation, while learning valuable life skills as we reflect on each of our blocks and strengths. A light, welcoming and fun workshop for teenagers to release stress, make sense of their own life, and use creativity as a force for life and expansion. Group sessions for teenagers are a wonderful and powerful setting for growth, empathy, connection and exchange - noticing we are not alone in our paths, and how we learn from one another when we feel connected in a healing community. This workshop is recommended if you are looking for ways to support your teenager in using creativity as a creative outlet to foster self-acceptance, resilience, integrating mind-body-brain, facilitating well-being through art making.
